Detailed Itinerary
Approximate Travel time: 7 Hours
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast, our safari guide will meet you, brief you about the safari, and then start on the journey to Kibale National Park driving westward along the Mityana – Fort Portal road. You will enjoy views of the beautiful countryside and have lunch along the way before arriving at the park. At the end of the day, you will check into your accommodation for dinner and the overnight

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking, then Nature walk, Birding in Bigodi Wetland.
You will have early breakfast before going for a briefing by the park warden. After that, you will set off for an amazing expedition to track chimpanzees, starting at 8.00 a.m. Along the way you will encounter other primates while in the forest such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Red-tailed monkeys, Red-Colobus, Blue tailed monkeys as well as L’hoestes and everal birds, insects and colorful butterflies.
After lunch, you will set out on a nature walk to explore the Bigodi swamp – an eco-tourism site where you will see a number of rare plant as well as animal species including the largest antelope species – the Statunga. There are various birds including: the Great blue Turacco, Narina Trogon, Rwenzori Turaco as well as the little Bulbul.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After an early morning breakfast at your accommodation, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and have lunch along the way.

Budget: Buhoma Community Campground, Travellers Rest Hotel or Ruhija Gorilla Friends Camp

Day 4: Gorilla Trek and Cultural Entertainment
You will be treated to an early morning breakfast before heading out for the early morning briefing by the park warden about the “do’s and the don’ts” while on this activity. You will set out deep in the forest led by guides and rangers as you search through the thick vegetation for gorillas. You will traverse through the forested muddy slopes until you eventually meet the gorillas. The trek may take anything between 2—6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. On finding them you will be allowed one hour in their presence for purposes of their observation. You will observe them go about their day to day routine and even take photos and capture videos. It’s a very exciting moment coming face to face with these gorillas. You will be amazed by the huge size of the silverback which is the dominant male – the can grow to a weight of 230 kilograms and reach a height of over 1.8 meters
In the evening, there will be an optional cultural experience with the Batwa people who you will interact with, visit some of their local project and enjoy traditional entertainment of music dance and drama. At the end of the day’s activities, you will return to your accommodation where you will have your dinner and rest for the night the night.

Day 5: Return to Kampala – end of safari
You will enjoy early breakfast, check out of your lodgings and then start on the journey back to Kampala, driving through the beautifully-terraced escarpments in the southwestern part of Uganda, through the stunning rugged hills known as ‘the little Switzerland of Africa’. You will have lunch in Mbarara town, home of the long-horn Ankole cattle. Eventually you will arrive in Kampala and depending on your flight you will be transferred to the airport. This will be the end of this exciting Safari.
