Gorillas Trekking Safaris
Mountain gorilla trekking is the primary tourist activity within Rwanda and these can be seen in Parc National des Volcans. Currently there are seven (7) groups or call them families of habituated mountain gorilla groups and these include: Amahoro, Sabinyo, Group 13, Susa, Hirwa, Kwitonda as well as Umubano. This adventurous activity can be done in groups of 8 people visiting each group.
This is another fascinating activity that will offer you a chance to meet man’s closest living relatives – the Chimpanzees which share 98% of their DNA with man. These can be seen within the widespread afro-montane forests of Nyungwe National Park found in southern Rwanda.
Golden Monkey Trekking
Golden monkeys which are an endangered monkey species are very beautiful and fascinating to look at. There are two habituated groups in Virunga Volcanoes; however, Nyungwe Forest is believed to have a smaller population as well. The activity is conducted in groups of six (6) people visiting each group at a time.
